One Month

We attempted a month picture, not the best photo ha!

The girls are a month old already! We don't go back to the Dr. until June but at their two week check, they finally started to gain some weight and both surpassed their birth weights. Hannah weighed 6lbs 3 and Sophia 6lbs 9. Not sure how much they are now,  but both eating great. We are still in newborn diapers and clothes. I am getting excited to put them in the next size up because we got so many cute clothes!!

They are such sweet babies and starting to show us a little personality. I have a feeling Sophia will be a little more spunky than Hannah....possibly like Olivia Oh My! We will see though.

We put them down at night after our 10pm feeding and usually they sleep until about 2 or 2 or 2:30 and then again until 6:30. I would say that is pretty good.

Scott went back to work this week so I am trying to figure it all out on my own. It is only for a few weeks though and then he has the summer off. Could not be more excited how that worked out!

Olivia is loving being a big sister and loves to help change diapers and give her sisters their pacifiers and blankets. I would say she is adjusting well!

I think that is all I have time for now....two babies are crying!

The Twinkies are here!

I am little late, but what can I say life with three kids is just chaotic!

I have a confession to make. We actually knew that the girls were coming on April 6th! At my last Dr. appointment a few days earlier my Dr. and I decided they were ready and since Scott, Olivia and myself all have birthday's on the 6th we found it fitting to pick the 6th. It was only two days earlier than planned anyway!

So at 37 +5 days at 7am we headed to the hospital for induction! We were both a ball of nerves and hardly slept at all.  I was 4cm when I got there and about 60% effaced so we were well on our way!

At 3:49 and 4:03 the girls arrived, no c-section and we all got to go home on Easter Sunday!

We are tired, but so happy they are here and healthy! Olivia is adjusting well and decided to potty train right when we got home. Great timing I know! Needless to say, she did it and I have one less child to buy diapers for whoo hoo!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers! God has blessed us with three healthy, beautiful girls!

37 weeks, am I really still pregnant!

The title says it all! I kind of always knew from the beginning I would make it all the way, but I never could have imagined how I would feel at this point. Will my body ever be the same????  Everything hurts and aches, and I know you are all over hearing about it, but I just can't believe what my body has been able to handle. Pregnancy is such a miracle!

I know several of you have thought I would have delivered by now and other's still think it will be a few days, but I think I will end up being induced because these girls seem content despite all of my best efforts.

I regrettably post this picture at 37 weeks and stay tuned!

37 weeks! Celebrating an early Easter and it was 91 that day! I am actually miserable in this picture.

36 weeks!

Wow, at the end of 36 weeks and like I have mentioned before each day is harder than the one before. Week 36 was tough and I had several breakdowns, but deep down I know that each day is bonus time for these twinkies to come out healthy. They are putting me through the ringer though geez!

I had a few wonderful friends stop by, which was great and my wonderful aunt Rhonda came over and cleaned my house and organized the twinkies room. I cannot be more appreciative and thankful for her. I mean how many of us could really go clean someone's elses' toilet yuck! I love you Rhonda thanks so much!

Scott's co-teachers also surprised him by turning his car into a baby mobile and filling it with diapers. It was hilarious and we are so thankful for more diapers in several sizes! Thank you Kiewit! Some of his students and their families also sent home a few meals for us to freeze for later! The generosity of people already is amazing and I hope I can get thank you's out in time.

The weather here has continued to be amazing, but this weekend got a little too hot for me as it was 90 both Saturday and Sunday! I don't think that has ever happened in March here. We let Olivia play in the sprinkler and I lasted outside a total of ten minutes. On Sunday we did an Easter Egg hunt with the family, which was fun, but again way too hot!

So the countdown is still on for now and we are just waiting in anticipation to meet these little girls. I am 37 weeks today and just can't believe the end is here. We are so ready to meet you twinkies so anytime would be greatly appreciated!

Loving the water!

I would rather sit in the water tub daddy!

Eliza and Olivia. They just love each other!

The Easter bunny came early!

35!

Week 35 was a long week, but a good week. My sister and Aunt threw me a wonderful diaper and donuts shower this weekend and it was so much fun! I have been indulging in way too many donuts this pregnancy so it was only fitting to have them at the shower and I will not tell you how many I had!

I have said it several times that we are so blessed with amazing family and friends. We have a stockpile of diapers for these little girls that will hopefully last us many months and we could not be more grateful to everyone.

So far these babies are staying put and technically I am 36 weeks today so another milestone!

Week 34!

So we are at the end of week 34, a big milestone in a twin pregnancy! Again, we are so close, yet if I make to 38 weeks that feels so far away! I have to say I have a short fuse these days it does not take much to annoy or irritate me. I have little patience with people so I apologize in advance. I am also getting super annoyed having to answer 20 questions to random strangers about my pregnancy. I am about to make a shirt that says:

" No I am not due tomorrow, I am having twins! Yes, I know wow! They are girls, identical, if I don't go into labor on my own they will be April 9th.  No we did not use drugs. Yes, I already have a child. She is  2 1/2 and I know we will have our hands full! Thanks and leave me alone!"

On another note, I survived all of those injections of Lovenox and as of yesterday have switched to Heparin in anticipation of labor. This time instead of three injections a day, I have a heparin pump that gives me a continuous dose and only has to be changed once every three days. There are pros and cons and I am still getting used to having this thing attached to me 24/7, but less needles and bruising is a big plus! Another positive is that the weather has been amazing here and we have been outside as much as possible. I wish I could run and play with Olivia and take her on walks, but she is enjoying her time with Scott and I am just thankful she can go burn off some energy. I hope this weather sticks around and winter does not return.

I think that is it until next week!!!

Week 33!

33 + 7
I am actually 34 weeks tomorrow, but I thought I would start posting each week from now until the end. I have a feeling I will want to look back at these last few weeks months and heck, years from now, for some good laughs.  To be honest these twins have sucked the memory out of me and I can't remember anything anymore.

Week 33 has been rough. These babies are still both head down. Therefore my ribs are constantly being kicked. My left ribs are so sore, I am convinced one of them is broke. OK drama I know, but you people have no idea. My left upper back also hurts with nerve pain, I am assuming from the same baby. The only position with some relief is while laying down. I am thankful to be off my feet and working from the office now, but it does nothing for my back and I am so over the car. My back hurts the worst in the car, even in our new minivan. Yes, we now own one and I will not comment any further!

As you can tell I am starting to hit the wall that I have spoken to other multiples mother's about and also read about. I am certainly more irritable and emotional and just plain uncomfortable. I know they need to stay in a few more weeks and I can do this, but I just have to be honest since I have been pregnant before. A twin pregnancy is so much harder!!!!

On a happy note, these last two weeks I have been surprised with two baby showers from co-workers. I had no idea about either and I had amazing cake at both and we received so many diapers, wipes and other goodies. We are so truly thankful and blessed!

Ok this venting session is over, until next week!!!!
